OUR CORE VALUES

When students begin their Revolution journey, they can expect to learn great martial arts in addition to our Life Skills:

These life skills are at the core of our organization’s values, influencing our every decision and the foundation of all that we teach. As a result, our employees work tirelessly to demonstrate, develop and mentor our students on how to integrate them into their own lives. This is why all of our employees began as our students, who ascended the belt ranks and joined our leadership program. Now, they’re dedicating their time to giving new generations the same life-changing experiences that they have benefited from.

While we understand perfection is impossible, we’ll never stop striving for it for the sake of those we serve. Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you at Revolution!

Scot Schwichow

Founder of Revolution Modern MA

Scot Schwichow is the founder and owner of Revolution Modern Martial Arts. In 2009 he left his career in corporate America to pursue his dream of owning his own martial arts dojo. Why? Because he knows firsthand the positive impact that a quality martial arts program can have on a person’s life.

By the time he was 13 years old, his confidence was so low that he was one of those “At-risk” kids that you hear about. Undersized for his age and being bullied every day, his grades were slipping and he rode the bench on any sports team that he tried out for. No matter what he did, he felt that he just couldn’t do well. Thankfully his parents enrolled him in a karate program so that he could find the self discipline needed to excel at home, school and in life.

The goal setting and personal achievement in karate helped him build his confidence to where he was brave enough to stand up to the bullies. Karate also inspired him to do his best, not just in the martial arts but at school as well. He turned his grades around and that allowed him to get accepted and graduate from the University of Delaware.

One of the most meaningful things we do at Revolution is help kids find the courage to make the right choices—even when it’s hard. The world can be a tough place, and sometimes just one wrong decision can take you down the wrong path. Through martial arts, we teach more than kicks and punches—we teach our students how to stand tall, believe in their worth, and stand up for what’s right. It’s about building strength on the inside as much as the outside.”

In addition to being a full-time martial artist and business owner, Scot is a Christian, devoted husband and father. In his spare time, he enjoys reading or spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Jeremy has been training in martial arts since he was just 6 years old, accumulating 9-10 years of experience in the field. He started his training, at Revolution, due to his parents’ belief that a good martial arts program would help him in the long run.

Currently holding a 2nd degree black belt at Revolution and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeremy has a wealth of experience under his belt. One of his favorite things about working with kids in martial arts is seeing them grow and progress through the ranks.
