At Revolution Modern Martial Arts, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, confident, and respected—at school, at home, and in their community. That’s why we offer free anti-bullying workshops open to the public for families in Clayton, Garner, and the surrounding areas.
Bullying is a serious issue impacting kids across the country:
1 in 5 students report being bullied at school (National Center for Educational Statistics)
6 out of 10 children witness bullying at least once a day
Victims of bullying are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, academic struggles, and low self-esteem
While martial arts teaches physical self-defense, Revolution’s anti-bullying program focuses on verbal strategies first. Our instructors use a proven, age-appropriate method called the 4 D’s of Bully Defense — teaching kids how to:
Detect potential bullying behavior
Diffuse tension using calm, confident words
Deflect teasing with assertiveness
Defend their boundaries without escalating to violence
Our anti-bullying workshops are interactive and engaging, providing children with the tools to stand up for themselves using words, body language, and confidence—not fighting.
Our program was developed by Scot Schwichow, founder of Revolution Modern Martial Arts and author of the book Strong Mind, Body and Spirit: How to Help Your Child Overcome Bullying With Confidence. Scot has helped hundreds of families navigate bullying by giving children the mindset and tools they need to succeed.
Whether your child is currently experiencing bullying or you just want them to be prepared, this free community workshop is the perfect place to start.
