Empowering Students to Say “Yes I Can!”
Due September 13th at 12:15 PM
At Revolution Modern Martial Arts, we believe confidence isn’t just something you’re born with—it’s something you build. That’s why our current Life Skills cycle is focused on Self-Esteem, helping students become leaders who proudly say, “Yes I Can!”
Confidence is one of the most important qualities a child can develop. When students believe in themselves, they are more likely to succeed in school, treat others with respect, and stand up for what’s right. Our Self-Esteem Challenges are designed to build confidence not only on the mat, but also at home and in everyday life.
Here’s how it works:
Self-Esteem Life Skill Challenges
Students can earn up to four Life Skill stripes per testing cycle. Those who promote with all four stripes will also receive a Life Skills Patch to proudly display on their uniform.
To earn each stripe, students must complete a specific challenge. Parents or guardians must then submit proof of completion by posting a photo and short explanation in the Revolution Modern Martial Arts Family Facebook group (Clayton) or by emailing Mr Andy (Garner). If you don’t use Facebook, please stop by the front desk—we’ll be happy to provide alternate instructions.
Teal Stripe – Moderation
Challenge: Abstain from TV or video games for one full day.
Why it matters: This teaches students balance, patience, and self-control—qualities that boost confidence by helping them take charge of their choices.

Why it matters: When students reflect on how they treat others and themselves, they develop a deeper sense of self-worth and respect—foundations of real confidence.
Camo Stripe – Confidence
Challenge: Awarded in class for demonstrating a Black Belt Attitude.
Why it matters: This isn’t just about skill—it’s about how students carry themselves, treat others, and respond to challenges.
Pink Stripe – Coachability
Challenge: Use videos in the app to practice self-defense at home for three straight weeks.
Why it matters: Practice builds consistency, and consistency builds confidence. When students take the lead on their own training, they learn to believe in their ability to grow.

Our Goal
We want these challenges to inspire our students to take their martial arts mindset out into the world. Whether it’s standing tall in class, helping a friend, or simply saying “Yes I Can!” when something gets tough—these moments are where confidence is built.
Let’s work together to help your child become more confident, capable, and ready to lead.
