As many of you are aware, Hurricane Helene has caused devastating damage in Western North Carolina, leaving many families displaced and struggling to access essential supplies. Entire homes have been destroyed, and the aftermath has created a significant shortage of clean water, food, and basic necessities.
In response to this crisis, Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell has stepped up by coordinating a system to deliver much-needed supplies to the affected areas. To support this effort, one of the designated drop-off locations is at the church I attend, and I will personally be delivering all of the donations we collect at Revolution Modern Martial Arts this Friday.
We are reaching out to our Revolution family, students, and the local community to come together and contribute to this relief effort. If you’d like to help, we’ve made it easy for you to donate at the dojo, and if that’s not convenient, there are several other drop-off points around town as well.
Here’s a list of the most needed supplies:
• Bottled water
• Non-perishable food
• Paper products/plastic utensils
• Sanitary wipes/cleaning supplies
• Hygiene products (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)
• Diapers/baby wipes
• Sports drinks/hydration powder packs
• Bug spray
• Manual can openers
• Trash bags
• Socks (all sizes, unopened)
• Heavy-duty work gloves
• Pet food
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to the families affected by this disaster. It’s a heartbreaking situation, but together, we can provide some relief to those in need.
If you have any questions or need more information on how to donate, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of our staff members.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness. Let’s rally together as a community and show our support for those who need it most.
Sincerely,
Scot Schwichow
